Breeders of Quality Suri Alpacas & Llamas

 

Paul & Judy Doran and family have been raising llamas since 1987. Alpacas were added to the program in the summer of 2000. From day one, our goal has been to raise the best. Our emphasis is on raising correct, big-boned, heavy wooled males that will pass these characteristics on to their offspring.

At Doran's it is truly a family affair. All thirteen of the children (five boys & eight girls) have either shown steers or heifers from our registered Angus cattle herd or from our llama and alpaca herd. Shortly after we bought our first llamas, we sold the entire cattle herd. Llamas and alpacas are so much easier to raise and we love them both.

Our daughter, Jennifer, has been a certified A.L.S.A. judge. Jennifer has judged many llama shows at the local, state and national levels. She has been one of the judges for The National Show for two years. She also organized and put together The Project Book and was the advisor for the first Llama 4-H Club in the state of Ohio.

Another daughter, Juliana, has been one of the top ten A.L.S.A. Youth show persons. She is great with all the young crias and trains them all to lead. She has shown many llamas to their championship.

Michael and Joshua, the last of the thirteen, are just now getting their showing skills honed in. With the addition of alpacas, their interest has really picked up and they are both big winners at many of the shows we attend.
